Cord offers a sensuous new take on the classic material corduroy. To craft the curtain, vertical ridges or ‘wales‘ of flame retardant chenille yarn are interwoven into a contrasting base, creating an intriguing duo tonality. The use of this yarn also enhances the textile’s softness while delivering outstanding depth of colour, as the fibres catch the light in a multitude of different ways.
Lightfastness relates to the ability of a textile to retain its colour under light. When testing for lightfastness, samples are exposed to artificial daylight for a specified period.
The evaluation scale ranges from 1 (worst) to 8 (best). An increase of one point corresponds to a doubling of the lightfastness, i.e. the same fading takes twice as long.Fire tests DIN 4102 B1 • IMO FTP Code 2010 Part 7 • NF P 92 503 M1 • NF P 92 507 M1
There are differing requirements concerning the flame-retardancy of textiles dependent on the area of application, country or even region. Our textiles pass the majority of international standards and are also tested for a selection of regional requirements.

Care instructions curtain textiles
Regular cleaning is important in order to keep the curtain textile looking its best and to prolong its life. Dust and dirt wear down the textile and also reduce its fire-retardant properties.
If possible, we recommend washing curtains once a year. If used heavily, a more frequent cleaning may be appropriate. All curtain fabrics by Kvadrat and Kinnasand are supplied bearing a maintenance label. We recommend the use of a light duty detergent without optical brighteners for all items in which, according to care instructions, washing is possible. In order to reduce the risk of allergy problems, we recommend to use washing detergents that do not contain optical bleach, perfume or colorants. Please take into account a possible shrinkage between 1 – 3 %. For more detailed information, we recommend contacting a professional dry cleaner and/or laundry. A professional dry cleaner may also assist in working out maintenance schedules which ensure that the fabrics are maintained properly so that a good indoor climate and maximum duration of the curtains are achieved.
